Installation 09--report

This is to inform the District on behalf of Rotaract Club Of Calcutta Metropolitan about the 6th Installation ceremony by the club on Sunday, 19th July, 2009. The Rotaract Club Of Calcutta Metropolitan has worked relentlessly for the community for the past 5 years and celebrated the beginning of yet another rotayear with the hope to work even harder than before through the 6th Installation Ceremony. The event took place at Rotary Sadan, Kolkata on 19th July,2009 at around 6:30pm.

Rtr. Dishari hosted the event which started with Rtr.Vikram putting the collar on Rtr.Ananya Sinha, President 08-09 followed by National Anthem which was led by Rtr. Ankita. Then Rtr. Ananya shared few motivating words on the spirit of Rotaract Movement and that of our club.

and Rt. Kunal B. Jaiswal shared their views about RCC Metropolitan and showed their unwavering support to us for which we are grateful to them and sincerely hope that we can always live up to these high expectations. They were presented with flower bouquets, as a token of our gratitude, by fellow club members.

A presentation on the motto and the past projects of our club was presented. Rtr. Ananya then installed our new president Rtr. Vikram and the new board members were introduced to whom badges were given by DRRC Chitralekha Ghosh. She also introduced our club’s very own blogsite whose id is “http://rcc-metropolitan.blogspot.com”.
The club bulletin named Morphine was launched by Rt. Kunal B. Jaiswal and special mention of thanks to Rtr. Sayan and Rtr. Parshati was made for their contribution to the making of the bulletin.

Rtr. Vikram then launched our club theme which is "the I in every child : RISE AGAINST CHILD ABUSE". Rtr. Dhrubojyoti Bhattacharya then gave a detailed and eye-opening presentation on child trafficking and child abuse showing us with facts and figures that how wrong we are to regard West Bengal and Kolkata as an "Oasis Of Peace" since West Bengal is a major base of child trafficking.

Rt. Bimal Pal and DRR Rtr. Ayesha Alam attended the later part of the evening and shared their thoughts and views with us.

The event had an attendance of over 100 people. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the audience for their patience and their support and in the coming days we will keep trying our best to make a positive and noteworthy difference in the society, in the lives of the distressed and the abused.
